happy sunday

To pray means to stop expecting from God the same small-mindedness which you discover in yourself. To pray is to walk in the full light of God and to say simply, without holding back, "I am human and you are God."

A human being is not someone who once in a while makes a mistake, and God is not someone who now and then forgives. No! Human beings are sinners and God is love.

people are life changing

Have you ever stopped to really think about how much one single little thing one single person does can drastically change your day? Or life?

Last week, some things happened that led me to realize that my best friend has changed her priorities. Even though this made me really sad, I do not think it is fair for me to have an expectation that someone prioritize me in their life if they don't want to. Needless to say, I had a really hard few days and I am still struggling with feelings of loss.

However, at the same time, I had an unexpected encounter with a new(ish) friend that drastically changed my day and outlook. I had dinner with this friend in my program and although we had talked plenty the past few months, this was the first time we had really hung out just us two. Well, one simple dinner somehow turned into FOUR STRAIGHT HOURS of talking. That is two hundred and forty minutes. That felt like thirty. Of unabated talking. Some silly, some serious. It was the most refreshing thing that has happened to me in a long time. She is SO wonderful and while it is crazy how similar we are, I am beyond thrilled by our differences because it teaches me so much.

Similarly, today I received a completely random message from a lifelong friend sister that I have not talked to in far too long. It was the most sincere and touching piece of love.

Truly, people are life changing. And they don't even know it. Which is possibly the best part.
 I am grateful.

love.
